Innerworld
”Innerworld” is an innovative exhibition-style dwelling situated at the periphery of Cadigal Greens, near the University of Sydney’s entrance. Designed to encapsulate the lives of 3 to 4 art and architecture students, it serves as a living canvas wherein their daily routines become a form of art—a concept rooted in the notion that art emanates from life itself.

/ Concept
Inspired by Piet Mondrian’s philosophy, which seeks to distill the fundamental energies governing nature and the cosmos through simplistic forms, the design aims to symbolise the delicate equilibrium between one’s innerworld (introspective realm) and outerworld (interpersonal connections). This invites visitors into the inner sanctum and forging deeper connections.
As an extension, experimentation on materials hones in on the intriguing interplay of colours, exploring how overlaying and blending can shift atmosphere within a space.

/ Design
This architecture must adeptly transition from providing a tranquil haven for personal reflection to accommodating a multitude of guests. Flexibility is paramount to meet the diverse needs of its inhabitants. Recognising that innerworlds are inherently influenced by external forces, the act of painting on the polycarbonate walls can dynamically alter the space’s ambiance, underscoring the profound impact of social interaction on individuals.
